In a hypothetical crossover between two animated classics, Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender would eventually come face to face with some of the pirates of One Piece. If they were to engage in battle, it would be a true test of skill for the prince himself.
Zuko is a master firebender who is also capable of redirecting lightning. On top of that, he's trained extensively in both hand-to-hand combat as well as sword fighting. He's strong, but the characters of One Piece are no joke either. While he's quite comfortable with facing elemental attacks, there are some techniques and powers that are sure to throw him for a loop. However, his skill, determination, and firepower may just be enough to let him hold his own in the One Piece universe.
10 CAN BEAT: Usopp
Usopp is the Straw Hat's sniper who is capable of making very long-distance shots. After the timeskip, he gained a ton of plant-based ammunition that let him handle a variety of situations. However, Zuko is not one whom he can handle with plants. Zuko's fire bending is both hot and powerful enough to practically vaporize anything that Usopp could shoot at him. Once Zuko gets in close, it's game over for the long-distance fighter. The only possible way he could win is if he took Zuko by surprise from an extreme distance, but that chance is slim to none.
9 CAN'T BEAT: Sabo
Sabo is the second-in-command of the revolutionary army and has eaten the Flare-Flare fruit. This fruit gives him complete control over fire, immunity to it, and can even turn parts of his body into fire. This makes him the perfect person to defeat a firebender like Zuko. Even if Zuko turned it into a hand-to-hand combat situation, Sabo still has him beat. His strength and speed are beyond anything seen in the Avatar universe, and Armament Haki on his hands would be enough to shatter Zuko's swords. The Fire Prince doesn't stand a chance.
8 CAN BEAT: Nami
Nami is the Straw Hat's navigator and can heavily influence the weather with her Clima-Tact. Her primary and strongest attack is her ability to cause lightning to rain down on her opponents. Unfortunately for her, Zuko is quite capable of redirecting lightning. He not only would be unharmed by her attack but also could potentially one-shot her with the same move. She might be able to produce enough rain to interfere with Zuko's firebending, but even if she did, his swords and proficiency with close combat would allow him to easily beat her.
7 CAN'T BEAT: Jinbe
Jinbe is a whale shark Fishman and navigator for the Straw Hats. If Jinbe has access to water, then this fight is over immediately. He's able to use it for mobility and powerful attacks, none of which Zuko would be able to stop. If he doesn't have access to water, he still wins.
He's surprisingly fast and very strong, with his Fish Man Karate and Haki letting him easily handle Zuko in close quarters. Zuko's firebending won't slow him down much, as he was still able to move and function after being pierced through the chest with molten lava. A little fire wouldn't be enough to stop Jinbe.
6 CAN BEAT: Buggy The Clown
Buggy the Clown is a pirate captain and Warlord of the Sea. His Devil Fruit allows him to be completely immune to cutting and slashing attacks, as well as control his body parts if they do get separated. If Zuko was simply a swordsman, then this fight would be over in seconds. Luckily, Zuko can also control fire, which Buggy is very susceptible to. A few stray shots and Buggy's elaborate costume will go up in flames. Buggy's only reasonable counterattack is firing his hands out while holding several knives, but Zuko can easily counter these.
5 CAN'T BEAT: Monkey D. Luffy
Monkey D. Luffy is the main character of One Piece and the captain of the Straw Hats. He would also single-handedly mop the floor with Zuko. Even at his base speed and strength, Zuko wouldn't be able to keep up with him to land a hit. While Luffy is vulnerable to slashing attacks, his mastery of Haki and quick reflexes would make it impossible for Zuko to even land a hit. He can still be burned, but dodging away from Zuko's firebending would be no issue. Even if he was hit, he's taken far worse blows and would be able to continue fighting.
4 CAN BEAT: Nico Robin
Nico Robin is the Straw Hat's archaeologist and has eaten the Flower-Flower fruit. With this fruit she can sprout her body parts on any surface and use them accordingly. While her Devil Fruit power is incredibly versatile and strong, the limbs she summons are made of flesh. By nature, flesh is weak to both fire and swords. Even if she summoned arms directly on Zuko's body as she's done in the past, he can quickly produce enough flame to get rid of them. Zuko can also increase his speed with his flames, which would keep her from hitting him with the gigantic limbs she can summon. It might be close, but Zuko can beat her.
3 CAN'T BEAT: Trafalgar Law
Trafalgar Law is a former Warlord and captain of the Heart Pirates. He ate the Op-Op fruit, which lets him create a "room" inside which he can control everything that happens.
He's incredibly powerful, and Zuko wouldn't be able to do a thing to him. If Zuko is in Law's room, then his firebending won't work at all. Law is also a master swordsman, and could easily defeat Zuko there with his superior speed and strength. No matter how he approaches it, Zuko would lose this fight.
2 CAN BEAT: Tony Tony Chopper
Tony Tony Chopper is the Straw Hat's doctor and a reindeer who ate the Human-Human fruit. He can change into various forms that impact his fighting style and effectiveness. Unfortunately, none of these forms offer significant resistance to fire. Zuko can create massive blasts of fire against Chopper's monster point, has the martial skills to combat his Kung-Fu point, and everything else can be managed with firebending. Unless Chopper gains a new form in the future, his fight with Zuko would end in a loss.
1 CAN'T BEAT: Brook
Brook is the musician of the Straw Hats as well as their second-best swordsman. The mere fact of him being a skeleton gives him big advantages over Zuko. Slashing attacks from swords don't affect him, as chopped-off body parts easily reattach. He is also resistant to flame attacks, as he took several from Big Mom's homie Prometheus and continued to fight anyways. Brook is faster than anything Zuko has had to deal with and would likely slash and freeze the Fire Prince before he could even react. Zuko just doesn't have what it takes to handle Brook.
