One Piece: 5 Onigashima Fights To Look Forward To (& 5 Average Ones)

The Onigashima Raid is the most crucial part of One Piece's Wano Country arc and the Four Emperors Saga. It focuses on Oden's samurai, along with every other member of the Pirate-Ninja-Mink-Samurai alliance, attempting to raid Kaido's castle and take his and Orochi's head and free Wano Country from their tyrannical rule.

This section of the Wano Country arc serves as the beginning of the main event and thus, will feature a lot of clashes, both big and small. Here are five fights to look forward at Onigashima, and five that won't be all that significant.

10 LOOKING FORWARD TO: Akazaya Nine Vs. Kaido

The Akazaya Nine are Oden's men who aim to finish their Lord's work after waiting twenty years for the right chance. They are the most important players in the raid on Onigashima and have already started fighting Kaido.

Having broken through Kaido's skin, defeating Kaido is a possibility for them and what's more, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi are both activating their Sulong form to achieve this goal, which is something that fans have always wanted to see.

9 AVERAGE: Apoo Vs. Kid

During the beginning of the Golden Kagura on Onigashima, fans got to see Scratchmen Apoo attack Luffy and Zoro and slightly injure them. Kid, upon noticing this, engaged in combat with Apoo and managed to inflict a serious injury on him.

Although this fight was set-up long before the time-skip of One Piece, it didn't really result in a full-blown fight and was, thus, pretty average.

8 LOOKING FORWARD TO: Jinbe Vs. Jack

Jinbe is the tenth member of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the most powerful subordinates of Monkey D. Luffy. Also being one of the most experienced fighters on the crew, Jinbe is perfect for taking on someone like Jack in battle.

Furthermore, both Jinbe and Jack are Fishmen (Jack being a half-Fishman), and both would be the third-strongest fighter under their respective captain.

7 AVERAGE: Nami & Carrot Vs. Homies

After arriving on Onigashima, the alliance finally decided to split up an infiltrate Kaido's castle to launch an attack. Nami and Carrot's team happened to come across Big Mom who used her Homies to take them on in battle.

Most of the fight was off-panel, however, as both Nami and Carrot appeared to have been caught. Later on, amidst the commotion caused by the Akazaya Nine, they broke free and defeated the Homies.

6 LOOKING FORWARD TO: Sanji Vs. Queen

Sanji's clash against Queen is one of the most anticipated ones in the arc so far, and it taking place on Onigashima makes a lot of sense for the story. Sanji, being the third-strongest Strawhat, and Queen, being the third-strongest Beast Pirate, makes this a perfect match.

Furthermore, Queen relies on technology and weapons in combat which are all his creation, which is something similar to Sanji using his Raid Suit in a fight.

5 AVERAGE: Hyogoro & The Samurai Vs. Gifters

Hyogoro is the former leader of the Yakuza of Wano Country and after having been freed from Udon by Luffy, he's ready to take up arms against Kaido.

After the attack of the Akazaya Nine, Hyogoro and his Samurai have engaged against the Gifters and some other officials of Kaido. While this clash is nice to look at, it's not something that fans have been waiting for in anticipation.

4 LOOKING FORWARD TO: Zoro Vs. King

Zoro is the strongest member of the Straw Hat Pirates after Luffy and someone who fans have wanted to see go all-out ever since he returned after the time-skip.

With King being Kaido's strongest subordinate and also being a swordsman, it would make perfect sense for Zoro to take him on in combat and, in the process, show everyone how strong he's truly gotten after training with Hawkeye Mihawk.

3 AVERAGE: Ulti & Page One Vs. Luffy

Luffy clashed against two members of Kaido's Tobi Roppo quite early during the Onigashima Raid and the two put up a decent fight against him. Thanks to his power and speed, Luffy was able to inflict some injuries to Page One, nearly dislocating his jaw in the process.

Interestingly, Ulti proved to be powerful enough to force Luffy to go Gear 4 and had Yamato not intervened, Ulti could've fought against Luffy in Gear 4.

2 LOOKING FORWARD TO: Luffy, Law, & Kid Vs. Kaido

Luffy, Law, and Kid's team-up is something that fans have been waiting for right since the times of Sabaody Archipelago. Even the author, Eiichiro Oda, has been angling to draw them fighting together, which is evident from the way how this arc is has been shaping up.

The three have united to take on Kaido and kill him during the Raid and although they're all going in to earn glory for themselves, it'll be a team-up that could end up becoming historic.

1 AVERAGE: Ulti Vs. Yamato

Ulti, along with every other member of the Tobiroppo, was tasked with finding Yamato, Kaido's son. The two eventually met when Luffy was engaging Ulti in combat.

The two have had small skirmishes since then and Yamato appears to be the stronger of the two at the moment. Although this fight could be quite interesting if it's focused on, Oda's decision to push it to the side ensures that it remains to be an average fight.
