The Wano Country arc has been built up to be the greatest story arc of One Piece to date. It was first teased by Eiichiro Oda during the Thriller Bark arc of the series and has, since then, been name-dropped quite a bunch of times.
Having finally entered the arc now, the story focuses on Luffy and his newly made allies trying to take on one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, Kaido, in an all-out War. Like with every battle, there will be winners and losers in the end, and here are 5 of each from One Piece's greatest arc in the making.
10 Winner: Luffy
Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and the man central to the Four Emperors Saga. He's allied with the Samurai of Wano to take on Yonko Kaido and Big Mom and declared war everyone at once.
Luffy may not be on the level of the Yonko just yet, however, he's going to be the winner in the battle at the end of the day. He'll also be the man closest to the One Piece once the Wano arc ends.
9 Loser: Scratchmen Apoo
The captain of the On-Air Pirates, Apoo is one of the Worst Generation pirates, just like Luffy. Apoo has been allied with Kaido and the Beasts Pirates for quite a long time now and probably serves as one of the Headliners of the crew.
He's an incredibly powerful character, as expected of a man with a 350 million berries bounty. Unfortunately for Apoo, he's chosen the wrong side to be allied with in the war and will turn out to be a loser.
8 Winner: Trafalgar Law
A pirate hailing from the North Blue, Law is almost as important to the Wano Country arc as Luffy. He's the man who set the plan to take down Kaido in motion and is largely responsible for everything that is happening in the arc right now.
Law will, undoubtedly, become a great pirate by the end of the series and the Wano Country arc is a great window for him to show what he's truly capable of.
7 Loser: Basil Hawkins
Basil Hawkins is the captain of the Hawkins Pirates and a member of the Worst Generation as well. His bounty sits at 320 million berries, which just goes to show that he's a rather powerful pirate.
Hawkins chose to ally with Kaido when Kid decided to fight him and in doing so, joined the wrong side. It goes without saying that Kaido's side will end up getting defeated in the Wano Country war and it is Luffy who will triumph.
6 Winner: Eustass Kid
The captain of the Kid Pirates, Eustass Kid clashed with Kaido long before the Wano Country arc began and was imprisoned by the Yonko. Having been set free by Luffy, Kid eventually joined the alliance, although his goal is to take all the glory for himself by becoming the one to kill Kaido.
Along with Luffy and Law, Kid is one of the most crucial characters in the Wano Country war and he'll definitely end up as a winner once everything is done and dusted.
5 Loser: Kurozumi Orochi
Orochi is the Shogun of Wano Country and the man responsible for putting Wano in a long era of darkness. 20 years ago, he played a big role in the execution of Oden but failed to kill his samurai.
Now, Oden's men are prepared to end his rule once and for all and set Wano Country free. Orochi was recently shown to have been decapitated by Kaido, however, his death remains unconfirmed. Either way, he'll be on the losing end once the arc is over.
4 Winner: The Akazaya Nine
The Akazaya Nine are the Samurai of Kozuki Oden and the men who have inherited his will. Together, they plan to kill anyone standing in the way of their Lord's dream.
The Akazaya Nine have allied with several pirates and made preparations over the years to finally get the chance to kill Kaido. With Kaido's potential death at the end of the arc, they could become huge winners.
3 Loser: Big Mom
Big Mom came to Wano Country in search of Straw Hat Luffy as he ruined all sorts of things that were dear to her during the Whole Cake Island arc. She ended up allying with Kaido and is now up against Luffy and the allies.
Just like Kaido, Big Mom is, at the end of the day, going to be a loser once the battle is over. With a bounty of over 4.3 billion Berries there's no denying that she's one of the strongest people in the war, she's definitely not someone who will succeed in her goals.
2 Winner: Kozuki Clan
Kozuki Oden and Toki died 20 years ago, however, their bloodline still lives in Hiyori and Momonosuke. To pull Wano out from the depths of hell, the Kozuki clan will have to eventually return to power.
Inevitably, once the arc is over, Momonosuke, or preferably Hiyori, will be the one who will lead the Land of Wano and in doing so, they'll get what was rightfully theirs.
1 Loser: Kaido
Kaido is the current strongest creature in the world of One Piece and he's the biggest antagonist of the Wano Country arc. He's up against a massive force and although he's the strongest, he'll end up losing because that's the only way the story can possibly move forward.
With the combined effort of everyone, Kaido will definitely fall once everything is done and he'll end up as a big loser of the arc.
