Chainsaw Man's first anime season wowed audiences with its stellar animation, brutal action sequences, wacky antihero characters, and dark, intriguing themes, and fans simply can't wait for more. Anime-only fans have a while to wait, but Chainsaw Man's manga fans are caught up on the story and know exactly what Season 2 may offer.
For all its twisted violence and shocking moments, Chainsaw Man's first season is merely a warm-up compared to what lies ahead, as any manga reader can attest to. All-new villains, new love stories, and even weirder new devils will burst onto the scene when Season 2 hits the airwaves, and even the most experienced anime fans won't be prepared for what's to come.
10 The Soviet Union Will Become A Major International Player
Chainsaw Man takes place entirely in Japan, but in this alternate 1990s setting, other nations will soon get involved in the fight over the gun devil's pieces and other conflicts. For example, the Soviet Union is still together as of 1997, and the Soviets will send several characters to Japan for some action.
This includes the lovely villain Reze, along with other international characters like Tolka, who is skilled with a bow and arrow. The Chainsaw Man series only lightly touches upon international politics, but anime fans may still look forward to some foreign characters with cool abilities.
9 Denji Is Capable Of True Love
Protagonist Denji is known for acting like a typical teenage boy who's eager to chase attractive women like Makima, but not even he is always so shallow. Denji won't make much progress with Power or Makima in Season 2, but Reze will be a whole different matter.
Denji will form a more serious and meaningful bond with the mysterious Reze, and he will even fall in love with her and act accordingly. At one point, Denji even wanted to run off with Reze, showing how serious he was about her, and it'll be wonderful to see this scene in anime form, too.
8 Reze Is The Bomb Devil
Denji thinks Reze is an innocent girl around his own age, but she is actually a hybrid soldier from the Soviet Union. Reze embodies the fearsome bomb devil, meaning she can set off devastating explosions to fight her enemies, all while having a bomb-shaped head.
Reze has a mission to fight Chainsaw Man under strict orders, so she and Chainsaw Man will duke it out once the pretenses are dropped. Manga fans can't wait to see Reze's explosive powers at work in the anime, which should top any fight they saw in Season 1.
7 Denji Will Make A Real Friend, Beam
The shark fiend Beam did appear late in Chainsaw Man's first anime as an ally of Denji's, and anime-only fans might worry that this new partnership will soon go sour. Manga fans, meanwhile, know that Beam will actually be one of Denji's longest-living and most loyal allies of all.
Denji is overdue to make a genuine friend who reliably supports him in more than one fight, and they know that Beam will deliver. They are like two peas in a pod, to the point that Beam is Denji's personal fan and will allow Denji to ride his shark form into battle like strange cavalry.
6 Hell Itself Will Appear
With so many devils appearing in the Chainsaw Man anime, fans must be wondering if Hell itself will appear, and they are right. As manga readers have seen for themselves, future story arcs will take the heroes right into Hell, a bizarre place with a grassy field, strange astronauts, and a sky of endless doors.
Hell was truly horrifying and strange in Chainsaws Man's international assassins arc, and if Season 2 is tightly paced, this wicked realm is sure to appear before the season is over. It will probably be tough to animate that sky door, but the end results will surely be worth it for anime fans everywhere.
5 Quanxi Will Make Her Debut
Characters in Chainsaw Man die often, so the manga introduces quite a few characters relative to its length. Manga readers can't wait to meet a variety of new characters in future seasons, which will include the cold, aloof assassin Quanxi.
Hailing from mainland China, Quanxi is a deadly warrior who travels with a squad of several female warriors, most of whom have gruesome devil powers of their own. Quanxi can easily hold her own in a fight, but her allies can be incredibly helpful, such as Cosmo.
4 Power Will Be Humbled
Power was introduced as Denji's obnoxious, energetic new partner, and she also has a huge ego. Power likes to look down on humans and most other devils, but later in the manga, she will be humbled and feel totally shaken after the Hell battle.
Late in Season 2 or perhaps in Season 3, Power will face devils much stronger and scarier than herself, and she will be immediately humbled. This will even affect her daily life, with Power being meek and needing Denji to look after her in everyday life, including help with bathing.
3 The Gun Devil Will Appear
One of the most powerful and notorious devils of all, the gun devil, can slaughter thousands of people in a matter of seconds anywhere in the world, feeding on humanity's intense fear of firearms and gun violence in all forms. It was mentioned in Chainsaw Man's first season when Makima discussed it, but it didn't appear.
The gun devil will likely make its first proper appearance in the anime's second season, and failing that, almost certainly in Season 3, should there be a Season 3. Anime fans will witness this engine of slaughter in action and see hundreds of victims' names appear as well.
2 Kobeni's Role Will Still Be Limited
The dandere devil hunter Koni Higashiyama played a supporting role in Season 1 as a timid and vulnerable devil hunter. She has lots of room to grow in many ways, and some Chainsaw Man anime fans might be waiting for her to get a glow-up.
However, Kobeni won't really get a glow-up in future anime seasons, as manga fans know. She will appear here and there and may get a little more development, but her growth is minimal. Fans of hers may be disappointed that she won't become the next Hinata Hyuga and become stronger and happier over time.
1 Katana Man Won't Do Much For Awhile
Katana Man was Denji's bitter rival in the Chainsaw Man anime, and he fought tirelessly to avenge his father at all costs. Katana Man eventually lost and was captured, so anime fans might hope for his return in Season 2 to continue his arc.
Katana Man will indeed return for more action, but not right away. He will appear only briefly in the next two story arcs, meaning he will make his real return in a possible Season 3 when the control devil story arc gets underway.
