Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has dropped preview images for the anime's tenth episode before it premieres on September 28.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 released the promo images on its official website alongside Episode 10's synopsis, which reads, "Yuji, who was heading for the Shibuya in pursuit of Mahito, was suddenly met by a small Mechamaru, which covered his ear. Mechamaru told Yuji and his friends that the worst had happened, "Gojo Satoru has been sealed." They were skeptical, but after hearing Mechamaru's explanation, they understood the situation, informed all the Jujutsu Sorcerers that Gojo had been sealed, and they set out to retrieve Gojo."
Studio MAPAA, who also animated the first season and movie of the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise, has returned for the second season. Crunchyroll is its streaming platform and its story description reads, "Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses, and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back."
Shota Goshozono directs Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, with Ryota Aikei assisting Goshozono. Hiroshi Seko wrote the screenplay. The rest of Jujutsu Kaisen's crew includes music composer Yoshimasa Terui and art director Junichi Higashi. Tadashi Hiramatsu and Sayaka Koiso are in charge of character design.
Jujutsu Kaisen adapted The Hidden Inventory/Premature Death story arc for its premiere season before moving on to The Shibuya Incident for the second. The Shibuya Incident is the sixth arc in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Akutami Gege created the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga, which began its run in 2018. VIZ Media acquired the license to produce the manga in English, and the series has gained a worldwide fanbase.
Crunchyroll will release Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Episode 10, on September 21, 2023.
