Where To Read Boruto Blue Vortex (Manga Chapter 81)

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is one of the most anticipated manga events of the year, and it is easy to see why, as this new chapter in the Boruto story has the potential to revolutionize the series and tell an epic tale while also carrying the Naruto franchise forward into the future. Many fans are trying to work out where to read this new tale, however, and if their current manga providers will offer it. Thankfully, keeping up with Boruto's new adventures is pretty simple.

One reason fans are confused is that there has been some unclear communication about what Boruto: Two Blue Vortex actually is. Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is the new arc of the Boruto story, with the new subtitle replacing the old Naruto Next Generations subtitle the manga initially had. It is also similar to how the original Naruto was renamed Naruto Shippuden when it started adapting the Naruto manga's second half. The start of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will also mark the end of the hiatus the manga has been on since April 2023.

What is Boruto: Two Blue Vortex?

Where To Read Boruto Blue Vortex (Manga Chapter 81)

In-universe, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will begin after a two-year time skip, meaning that things will have changed quite a lot since the last time the audience saw these characters, as shown by the fact that the main cast looks very different. Plus, during the time skip, the characters have grown much more powerful and discovered many new techniques, meaning that upcoming battles will be even more exciting as they'll have plenty of new things to showcase. Most notably, fans will see Sarada Uchiha finally using the Mangekyo Sharingan she learned at the end of Boruto's first part.

This new storyline will also see Boruto thrown into a strange situation as he is being hunted by the Hidden Leaf Village, people he used to consider his friends. This is because the whole village has had its memory altered by Kawaki, so now everyone thinks that Kawaki is Naruto's son and that Boruto killed Naruto, making the young ninja a target as everyone wants to get vengeance for the fictional actions they believe happened. This forces Boruto to leave and train and to become powerful enough to take down both Kawaki and Code.

How To Read Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Legally

Thankfully, American readers will not have to wait or jump through many hoops to enjoy Boruto: Two Blue Vortex legally. The first chapter of this new part of the Boruto tales is confirmed to launch in the pages of V-Jump magazine, the same place that Boruto has been published since 2019. The first chapter of Two Blue Vortex was printed in the tenth issue, which arrived on newsstands August 21, 2023.

International readers can read Boruto: Two Blue Vortex in two places. The first is via Viz Media’s Shonen Jump platform. This platform can be accessed through your browser or its official phone app. The first chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is free to read. If Two Blue Vortex follows the format other popular titles on the Shonen Jump platform use, then the first three chapters and the latest three chapters will be free to read, with users having to pay for the Shonen Jump premium subscription to read the others.

The second option for Boruto fans is via Shueisha's Manga Plus platform. Much like Viz Media’s Shonen Jump, Manga Plus hosts Boruto as a simultaneous release, meaning the chapters will arrive on the site soon after they launch in Japan. However, Manga Plus has a slightly different system to Shonen Jump, and in the future, only the last three chapters and the first will be available to read. However, other chapters will be part of Manga Plus' First Read Free promotion. This promotion allows fans to read all the currently available chapters of Manga Plus' simultaneous release titles, but each chapter can only be read once.

This means fans who have already been reading the Boruto manga won't need to worry or do anything, as they'll be able to continue reading the series with minimal effort on their platform of choice. The only thing to remember is that, at the current time, both Manga Plus and Shonen Jump have given Boruto: Two Blue Vortex its own listing, one separate from the original Boruto arc. However, this listing is easily found by searching either Boruto or Two Blue Vortex on either platform. This means the change is easy to get used to, especially as both platforms allow users to favorite titles for easy access.

This pattern will continue with all future chapters for the foreseeable future. Manga Plus and Shonen Jump say that Boruto: Two Blue Vortex's second chapter will launch on their service on September 20th, 2023. The Manga Plus site lists the title as launching at 8 a.m., so it can be presumed that Shonen Jump will also get the chapter around that time. However, there is sometimes a slight delay with title uploads, so fans might have to refresh the page a few times before seeing it.

While it seems likely that there will be physical releases of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex down the line, there isn't anything currently known about them. For reference, the first chapter of Boruto launched on May 9th, 2016. However, the English version of the first collection didn't hit shelves until April 4th, 2017, meaning that fans who prefer to read physical copies will have to wait quite a while before they dive into this brand-new adventure.

The launch of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is shaping up to be a massive moment in both Boruto and manga history, presenting fans with a whole new story that upheaves the status quo, opening up a load of new storytelling opportunities as it does. Only time will tell how Boruto and his friends overcome these new challenges. But, thanks to modern digital distribution, fans won't have to worry about missing a single moment of it and can enjoy the story alongside their Japanese cohorts.
