Goku's Power Pole & 9 Other Forgotten DB Icons We Want To See In Dragon Ball Daima

Dragon Ball Daima, an upcoming spin-off series that comes directly from franchise mastermind, Akira Toriyama, has been confirmed for a Fall 2024 release. Dragon Ball Daima sees Goku and the rest of the series’ eclectic cast all get turned into children.

This juvenile shift should be a curious way to rejuvenate the franchise and it looks like these transformations will also incorporate some classic Dragon Ball items that haven’t been seen in years. Dragon Ball Daima reunites Goku with his signature Power Pole weapon. However, fans are hopeful that other forgotten Dragon Ball items will also make a return.

10 Power Pole

One of Goku's more versatile tools in the original Dragon Ball is his Power Pole, which is a multi-purpose item. The Power Pole can be used as a combat staff, but it can also extend remarkable lengths, which was essential for Goku before he could fly.

The Power Pole continues to appear in Dragon Ball Z and even GT, but it seems to once again be one of Goku's signature items in Dragon Ball Daima due to his newly disadvantaged state. There's also a nice sense of legacy behind the Power Pole, which Goku acquired from his adoptive Grandpa Gohan, who in turn got it from Master Roshi.

9 Battle Scouter

Battle scouters are prominent during Dragon Ball Z’s earlier story sagas. These informative items are commonly associated with Saiyans, but they’re actually a staple of Frieza’s army. Battle scouters can read an individual’s power level and other vital pieces of information that are then relayed to the user. Scouters were phased out of Dragon Ball once characters’ power levels grew too high for technology to calculate, as well as the common strategy where fighters conceal their power level.

That being said, Bulma could perhaps upgrade battle scouters – much like she did with the Dragon Radar – so that they once again become relevant. It’s also possible that child versions of Dragon Ball characters means that scouters will be applicable again.

8 Blood Rubies

Blood Rubies are only present in the Dragon Ball movie, Curse of the Blood Rubies, which means that they aren't strictly part of the series' canon. However, there's such an interesting concept behind Blood Rubies that could be creatively harnessed in Dragon Ball Daima. Blood Rubies are cursed treasures that contaminate everything around them.

In Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies, those who acquire the Blood Rubies transform into horrible, dangerous monsters. Blood Rubies could be weaponized in Dragon Ball Daima as a tactic where weaker villains can bulk up into intimidating monsters.

7 Bansho Fan

Dragon Ball's Bansho Fan is significant in the sense that it helps bring Goku and Chi-Chi together in their first time together as a team. The Bansho Fan becomes a crucial treasure during the final few episodes of the original Dragon Ball where it's the essential tool to put out the intense flames on Fire Mountain.

The Bansho Fan seems to serve a very specific goal, but there's no reason that Dragon Ball Daima couldn't reinvent it. Demon Slayer's third season highlights how advantageous a powerful fan can be as a weapon. It could be a surprising weapon in a character's arsenal or a smart way to bring Chi-Chi back into the action.

6 Flying Nimbus & Dark Nimbus

Goku's Flying Nimbus is a series staple that's largely associated with his Power Pole from the same era. The Flying Nimbus allows pure-hearted individuals to ride it as transportation, and it becomes a generational item for Goku's family that's passed down to Gohan, Goten, and even Uub.

Serious use of the Flying Nimbus in Dragon Ball Daima would make for a fun change of pace. However, Dragon Ball very briefly introduces a Dark Nimbus, which those of an impure nature can ride, with Mercenary Tao. A Dark Nimbus that a villain takes advantage of would be a very exciting surprise.

5 Battle Jacket

Dragon Ball's Battle Jacket is a mech-like suit that's primarily utilized by Red Ribbon Army's top-ranking officials. This Battle Jacket helps ordinary humans like Commander Red or Officer Black hold their own against someone like Goku in combat. The disappearance of the Battle Jackets is largely because they're no longer a viable form of defense against Goku.

However, there's no reason why weaker human heroes like Yamcha or Chiaotzu couldn't turn to the Battle Jacket as a way to stay relevant. Even non-fighters like Oolong, Puar, the Pilaf Gang, or the new baby versions of Goten and Trunks could benefit from Battle Jacket use.

4 Black Water Mist

The Black Water Mist becomes an important catalyst during the Garlic Jr. filler saga that occurs following Frieza's defeat. The Black Water Mist used to belong to Garlic before it was safeguarded by Kami at his lookout.

Garlic Jr. steals his father's concoction back, which is a viral mist that infects anyone in its vicinity and turns them into vampire-like demons who follow Garlic Jr.'s bidding. Black Water Mist could be used in many unique ways in Dragon Ball Daima, whether it's a planet that's infected by it and functions like a ravenous hive mind or another outbreak that turns Goku's friends and family into foes.

3 Capsules

Dragon Ball has never lost its sense of fantasy even if a more action-centric atmosphere has progressively taken over the franchise. Dragon Ball Daima looks like a satisfying return to the light-hearted and more fantastical adventures of the original Dragon Ball. A popular component of the original series were Bulma’s resilient capsules from Capsule Corp.

These compact items can release essential items that range from weapons to vehicles and anything in between. It’s been a long time since Dragon Ball entertained the magical mystery of capsules and so Dragon Ball Daima would be the right time for a comeback.

2 Chi-Chi's Helmet

Chi-Chi is a Dragon Ball character who finds joy in her family and domestic life over martial arts after she marries Goku. Chi-Chi is a natural fighter and her escapades in the original Dragon Ball include a special battle outfit that sports surprisingly dangerous headwear. Chi-Chi's helmet has a prominent blade that detaches and can be thrown like a boomerang.

This blade is sharp enough to take out a dinosaur, but the helmet can also release lasers. Both Chi-Chi, as well as her powerful helmet, would be fun additions to Dragon Ball Daima.

1 Saiyan Battle Armor

Dragon Ball’s Saiyans come in many shapes and sizes, but a defining trait of these alien warriors early on in the franchise is that they’re always wearing Saiyan battle armor. Dragon Ball Z explains that this battle armor is extremely durable and malleable in a one-size-fits-all capacity. Many early villains wear the Saiyan battle armor, but it also protects the heroes during their trip to Planet Namek.

There’s even a brief minute in Dragon Ball Super where Goku dons his people’s signature defense wear. Dragon Ball Daima could properly bring back this fashionable armor as extra insurance for these newly-weakened heroes.
