Uniqlo U.S. Releases Upcoming Attack on Titan Vol. 2 Clothing Collection

Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo has released new teaser images of its upcoming Attack on Titan Vol. 2 collection.

The new collection, found on Uniqlo's website, celebrates the highly anticipated Attack on Titan finale, taglined, "A superb collection befitting the conclusion of this turbulent story." The clothing line will be available on Oct. 26, just in time for the release of the anime’s final episode, "Attack on Titan Final Chapters Special 2" on Nov. 4.

The announcement of the new clothing line was accompanied by a special Attack on Titan-themed website and a promotional video highlighting four new T-shirt designs. The T-shirts feature Eren and other members of the 104th Training Corps, Mikasa, Hange and the Colossus Titan. The T-shirts are all priced at $24.90 and span men’s sizes XXS - 3XL.

Uniqlo has previously released several anime-themed collections, including apparel lines inspired by Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba; however, it’s clear that the clothing company put special effort into the promotion of this Attack on Titan Vol. 2 collection, serving as a testament to the popularity of the anime series as well as the gravity of its ending.

The Legacy of the Attack on Titan Franchise

Attack on Titan was originally created as a manga by Hajime Isayama and published by Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2009 to 2021. The 34-volume series is set in a world on the brink of extinction. Humanity takes refuge within colossal walled cities to escape the Titans, enigmatic humanoid creatures. Following the loss of their home to a Titan attack, protagonist Eren Yeager and his friends Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert join the military to confront this peril. The story explores themes of survival, freedom and the mysteries surrounding the Titans.

Attack on Titan was adapted into an anime series by Wit Studio, premiering in 2013. It’s grown tremendously over the last decade, making a name as one of the biggest series within the shonen demographic. It became the first non-English series to be named the World's Most In-Demand TV Show, a title previously held only by The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. The manga has over 120 million copies in circulation, and along with the anime, the franchise has also been adapted into four different video games and a live-action movie. Attack on Titan holds a heavy legacy, putting all the more pressure on the series finale to live up to the high expectations of the fans.

The Attack on Titan series finale will be released on Nov. 4 on Crunchyroll. In the meantime, all four seasons of the anime, including part one of "The Final Chapters," can be found on both Crunchyroll and Hulu.
