Attack on Titan Releases New (and Some Slightly Terrifying) Figures for Pre-Order

Japanese figurine business Good Smile Company has announced a new collaboration with the Attack on Titan anime to produce exciting (and some terrifying) new figures.

Six new Attack on Titan products were made available for preorder earlier this week. Good Smile Company is re-releasing two versions of the popular "Mikasa Ackerman" figure sculpted by kiking. She's joined by "POP UP PARADE Eren Yeager: Attack Titan" and "Reiner Braun: Armored Titan," along with a "Humanity's Strongest Soldier Levi" figure and a suited Levi one showcasing his suave style featured in many of the Eldian's expeditions outside the walls.

The base version of the Mikasa figure costs US$138.99 and features the popular character with her pose from the second volume of the Blu-ray, holding a sword as she jettisons from a building. She stands at 170mm. Meanwhile, the deluxe version costs $156.99 and comes with the actual building, taking the figure's height to 280mm. Both ship in Q2, 2025. "POP UP PARADE Eren Yeager: Attack Titan" (150mm tall) and "Reiner Braun: Armored Titan" (160mm tall) both cost $31.99 and ship in Q4, 2024. The "Humanity's Strongest Soldier Levi" figure is arguably the most detailed, with an acrylic wind-shaped base showcasing Levi's rapid movement from the anime. The figure stands at 235mm and ships Q2, 2025. His blades are also optional. Finally, the suited Levi stands at 170mm tall and ships in Q4, 2023.

Attack on Titan continues to roll out collaborations, recently announcing a second clothing line called "Attack on Titan Vol. 2" with casual wear retailer Uniqlo. This followed the Gamer Fuel Spinal Fluid drink from G Fuel where fans could taste the "spinal fluid" of Titans -- a reference that grew in notoriety after the events of Ragako Village in the anime. This was one of the darkest plot points of the Attack on Titan anime and played a crucial role in Connie's characterization. Connie's choice to forgo turning his mother back into a human despite his torment is just another example of why the series that started in 2013 is so beloved by fans.

Attack on Titan finally ended on Nov. 4, 2023, to critical acclaim. Spanning 90 episodes and two specials, the anime adaptation of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan by Wit Studio (Seasons 1-3) and MAPPA (Season 4 onward) went down in history as one of the most well-received of all time. After crashing Crunchyroll, the anime again went viral on social media with memes of fans trying to cope with the emotional and complex ending.

Crunchyroll streams all seasons of Attack on Titan, including the upcoming Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters Special 2. It describes the series as follows: "Known in Japan as Shingeki no Kyojin, many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress. Only the heroic members of the Scouting Legion dared to stray beyond the safety of the walls – but even those brave warriors seldom returned alive. Those within the city clung to the illusion of a peaceful existence until the day that dream was shattered, and their slim chance at survival was reduced to one horrifying choice: kill – or be devoured!"
