Spy x Family's Anya and Becky Make the Cover of Major Fashion Magazine

Spy x Family best friends Anya Forger and Becky Blackbell have made the cover of prominent Japanese fashion magazine Non-no.

The announcement was made on Non-no Web with a preview of the upcoming January/February 2024 merger issue’s cover, featuring Becky and Anya dressed in "mafuyu no odeke kekodine" (winter’s cutest coordinates) in short winter coats and checkered skirts. Non-no is a women’s fashion and lifestyle magazine produced by massive Japanese publishing company Shueisha, also the publisher of Weekly Shōnen Jump and the Spy x Family manga. Although the magazine doesn’t cover anime or news, both Non-no and its male-oriented counterpart, Men’s Non-no, have previously featured prominent anime characters from One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen.

This is the second time that Anya has graced the cover of Non-no, as she was previously the face of last year’s sold-out January/February 2023 merger issue. The upcoming issue featuring Anya and Becky is scheduled to be released on Nov. 20 and will contain a special edition Spy x Family desktop calendar covered by fan favorite characters including Loid, Yor, Damian, Yuri and Bond, among others.

The cover issue will promote the highly anticipated Spy x Family Code: White movie, releasing in theaters in Japan on Dec. 22. The film has been licensed by Crunchyroll in several other countries, including the U.S., for release in 2024. Spy x Family Code: White is an original stand-alone story following the adventures of adorable telepath Anya and her adoptive parents, Loid Forger, aka secret agent Twilight, and Yor Briar, an assassin with the code name Thorn Princess. Twilight formed the makeshift family after being tasked with infiltrating the elite school, Eden College, to maintain world peace. The three fall into hilarious and action-packed misadventures as they strive to keep their true identities hidden while navigating the challenges of everyday life.

Spy x Family, created by Tatsuya Endo, has been serialized as a manga in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 2019. Wit Studio and CloverWorks worked together to produce an anime adaptation in 2022. Both the manga and anime have received critical acclaim, with over 30 million manga copies in circulation and an array of awards, including the 7th Crunchyroll Anime Awards’ Best Comedy and Best New Series of 2023. Its popularity has led to numerous other adaptations, most recently including a Nintendo video game and a household goods line, and now serving as Japan’s latest fashion inspiration.

The newest issue of Non-no featuring Anya and Becky will be released on Nov. 20 and is currently available for pre-order on Non-no Web. Spy x Family Season 1 and the currently airing Season 2 are available to stream on Hulu and Crunchyroll.
