10 Bleach Villains Who Deserve Their Own Spin-Off Series

At its core, Bleach revolves around the conflict between the Soul Reapers, Hollows, and Quincy. Bleach is part of Shonen's iconic Big Three - making it one of the most popular anime of all time. When a series is that popular, they sometimes recieve a spin-off series. Bleach has quite a few villains and several of these villains can realistically be the stars of their own spin-off series.

Many of the Bleach villains who deserve a spin-off have already died, but they can still star in a prequel series that would further build their characters. Now that Hell has become a threat, some of these villains can continue their stories through Hell. Certain Bleach villains can also have more adventures because they are still within the confines of the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo.

10 Tosen Wanted To Avenge A Dear Friend

Debut Episode: Episode 24, "Assemble! The Gotei 13"

Tosen was the Captain of Squad 9, and he is one of the few villains that never fought Ichigo Kurosaki. Before he became a Soul Reaper, Tosen was good friends with a woman named Kakyo - who inspired him to follow a path with minimal bloodshed. Kakyo was murdered by her husband, and when Tosen asked Central 46 for justice, he was turned away.

From that moment, he wanted to end Soul Society's unjust culture. This was the reason why Tosen allied himself with Aizen. For decades, Tosen was Aizen's spy and assassin, but he was also Sajin Komamura's close friend. If there was a Tosen spin-off, it could explore the inner turmoil that Tosen felt while he was a double agent. It could also include a storyline that briefly caused Tosen to question is loyalty to Aizen.

9 Gin Was A Hero Acting Like A Villain

Debut Episode: Episode 20, "Gin Ichimaru's Shadow"

Gin was the Captain of Squad 3, and most fans assumed he was a villain from the moment he debuted with his sinister smile. Gin was Aizen's right-hand man, and he killed dozens of people on Aizen's behalf. In reality, Gin wanted to gain Aizen's trust so he could kill him at the perfect moment. Unfortunately, Gin died while trying to kill him.

Gin wanted to avenge Rangiku Matsumoto - who was severely injured during one of Aizen's experiments. Gin and Rangiku grew up together, and he seemed to love her. If Gin's soul was sent to Hell, a spin-off could see him fighting the minions of Hell. His motivation would not be to protect the Soul Society. Instead, he would be risking his life to keep them away from Rangiku.

8 Haschwalth Was Yhwach's Right-Hand Man For Centuries

Debut Episode: Episode 368, "Foundation Stones"

Haschwalth is Yhwach's right-hand man, and most of the Sternritter assumed he was Yhwach's successor. As a child, Haschwalth was very weak, in fact he could not even create a standard Quincy bow. So far, he has not appeared in any of the flashbacks that were set during the Quincy war from 1,000 years ago, but he was already the leader of the Sternritter at that time.

This means that he ruled over the Quincy for centuries while Yhwach was slowly coming back to life. A Haschwalth spin-off would have to be a prequel series. It could focus on Haschwalth dealing with Quincy factions who wanted to usurp Yhwach's throne.

7 Kariya May Be The Most Compelling Filler Villain

Debut Episode: Episode 70, "Rukia's Return! Revival of the Substitute Team! "

Jin Kariya was the main antagonist of the Bount arc. He was the leader of the Bount - a tribe of artificially created humans who feed on human souls. Most of the Bounts were secretly wiped out by the Soul Society, but Kariya and a few others survived. Like other members of his kind, Kariya was hunted by Hollows, and he spent much of his early life living in squalor.

As a result, he vowed to destroy the Soul Society. If the Hell arc does happen, a Jin Kariya spin-off could work if he was sent to Hell. He could escape through its gates and gather any Bounts that remain to carry out his revenge. He can then meet the reincarnation of Yoshino Soma - his former human wife. She can teach him to fight for his people's survival instead of vengeance.

6 Baraggan Was The King Of Hueco Mundo

Debut Episode: Episode 145, "The Espada Gather! Aizen's Royal Assembly"

The Espada were recognized as the strongest Arrancar in Aizen's army, and Baraggan was the second Espada. Prior to joining Aizen, he ruled over the original Las Noches as the God-King of Hueco Mundo. No other Hollows opposed him because they feared his strength.

Baraggan was killed by his own ability during the Fake Karakura Town arc, and there is a good chance he was sent to Hell afterwards. A Baraggan spin-off can be a direct sequel, and it could revolve around him trying to become the supreme ruler of Hell. Hell has its own type of Hollows, so Baraggan would be able to amass a strong army.

5 Harribel Now Rules Hueco Mundo

Debut Episode: Episode 138, "Second move of Hueco Mundo! Hitsugaya vs Yammy"

Harribel was the Third Espada, and she was technically the only Espada who did not lose to a Soul Reaper. That being said, Aizen still critically injured her because he deemed her to be too weak. Fortunately, Harribel survived, and she returned to Hueco Mundo after Aizen's defeat. As the strongest living Arrancar, she became the de facto ruler of Hueco Mundo. She was later defeated by Yhwach - who turned her into a prisoner.

Harribel is only a villain because she was part of Aizen's army, but she is actually an honorable and level-headed person who does not like fighting. A Harribel spin-off can take place after the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, and it can have Harribel fighting to bring peace back to Hueco Mundo. She can also defend Hueco Mundo from external threats, like rogue Soul Reapers or Quincies.

4 Grimmjow Has Trained To Become Much Stronger

Debut Episode: Episode 116, "The Evil Eye, Aizen Again"

Grimmjow was the Sixth Espada, and he is arguably one of the best fighters in Bleach. Most fans believed that Grimmjow was killed by Nnoitra, but he actually survived. He is the one who killed Quilge Opie in Hueco Mundo, and he later helps to liberate the Soul King's Palace.

Grimmjow is one of the most popular characters in Bleach, so it would not be surprising for him to get a spin-off. It can be a prequel set before the Quincy invasion, and it can follow how he became stronger. There could also be a sequel series that revolves around Grimmjow becoming the new ruler of Hueco Mundo.

3 Ginjo Was The First Substitute Soul Reaper

Debut Episode: Episode 343, "3rd Year High School Student! Dressed Up, and a New Chapter Begins! "

Ginjo acted like he was Ichigo's ally, but he turned out to be the main villain of the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc. It is revealed that Ginjo was the first Substitute Soul Reaper, and he learned that his Substitute Shinigami badge was a surveillance device that limited his power. Ginjo felt betrayed and went into hiding, but he killed several Soul Reapers first.

There can theoretically be two Ginjo spin-offs that would be interesting. One could be a prequel that follows Ginjo's Substitute Soul Reaper days - which would be reminiscent of Bleach's first arc. The other spin-off can take place after the Thousand-Year Blood War arc. When Ginjo died, his soul went to the Soul Society, and he actually helps the Soul Reapers. This spin-off can follow Ginjo as he becomes a real Soul Reaper captain.

2 Yhwach Is The Son Of The Soul King

Debut Episode: Episode 367, "THE BLOOD WARFARE"

When Bleach creator Tite Kubo revealed the designs of the original Gotei 13 Captains, fans immediately asked for a prequel series. Even more fans asked for a prequel series when they saw the original Captains decimating Quincies during the war that occurred 1,000 years ago.

If there was a prequel spin-off that involved the original Gotei 13, Yhwach should be the main character. Yhwach is the son of the Soul King, but more importantly, he is the Quincy King. The series can show how Yhwach gathered his army, and the friendships that he made. It could even introduce a love interest who inspired Yhwach to create a world without death.

1 Aizen Has A Slight Change Of Heart At The End Of The Series

Debut Episode: Episode 23, "14 Days Before Rukia's Execution14 Days Before Rukia's Execution"

Aizen was the main villain for most of Bleach's story, and he became immortal after fusing with the Hogyoku. After being defeated, Aizen was sent to the lowest level of Muken prison, where he is serving a 19,000-year sentence. When the Soul King's Palace falls, he is temporarily released by Captain Commander Shunsui Kyoraku, and he actually helps to defeat Yhwach.

After meeting Yhwach, Aizen seemingly has a slight change of heart. He actively disagrees with Yhwach's philosophy because he believes people will only have the courage to move forward if there is a fear of death. An Aizen spin-off should be set after his sentence ends, and it can focus entirely on his path to redemption. Considering what Aizen has done, redemption should be unattainable, but that is what makes the concept so intriguing.
