10 Naruto Ninja Who Never Showed Their Full Power

Most of the characters in Naruto are highly skilled ninja who can use a variety of jutsu. By the time the series ended, many of these characters had fought in multiple battles, and they were able to show fans the full extent of their power. Unfortunately, several Naruto characters did not get the chance to show their full power during the series. Some of these characters also appear in Boruto, and they still have not shown their full strength.

Most of the characters in question were side characters who did not get much screen time. These individuals possess the same abilities as other characters, but they never used those abilities during actual combat. Other characters were unable to show their full power because they either died or were defeated before they could do so.

10 Hanabi Hyuga Is The Heir To The Hyuga Clan

First Appears in Naruto Episode 46, "Byakugan Battle: Hinata Grows Bold!"

Hanabi is Hinata's younger sister, and she is the heir of the Hyuga clan. Like other members of her clan, she possessed the Byakugan - an ocular kekkei genkai that grants her a near-360º field of vision. She can use it to see through walls, and she can see another person's chakra circulatory system.

Hanabi mastered the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist fighting style, and she can use it to temporarily cut-off an opponent's chakra. She can also deal severe internal trauma with each strike. In terms of strength, her skills were comparable to Neji's. She has used some advanced techniques during sparring sessions, but she has never gone all-in during a fight.

9 Rock Lee Never Opened The Eighth Gate

First Appears in Naruto Episode 21, "Identify Yourself: Powerful New Rivals"

Most ninja can use both ninjutsu and genjutsu, but Rock Lee could not use either of them. That being said, he was still able to become a jonin-level ninja by focusing solely on taijutsu. Thanks to his training, Lee could open five of the Eight Gates when he was just 12 years old. With this power, he was able to push a Jinchuriki like Gaara to the limit.

During the Fourth Great Ninja War, Lee could open the Sixth Gate, and he mastered the Seventh Gate a short time afterwards. If he were to open the Eighth Gate, Lee would temporarily gain more power than the Five Kage. Lee only mastered the Eighth Gate as an adult, but he has never used it in battle.

8 Choza Was The Head Of The Akimichi Clan

First Appears in Naruto Episode 59, "The Final Rounds: Rush to the Battle Arena!"

Choza is Choji's father, and he was the fifteenth head of the Akimichi clan. Like other members of the clan, Choza could use the Expansion Jutsu to increase the size of his body. He could also increase the size of specific body parts. If he grows his entire body, he can become a literal giant, and his physical strength significantly increases.

While in this state, Choza can defeat multiple enemies with a single attack. He can also hold the Gedo Statue back for a time. Butterfly Mode is the Akimichi clan's ultimate technique, and it allows the user to convert their calories into chakra. As the head of the clan, Choza can use Butterfly Mode, but he never used it in the series.

7 Kimimaro's Strength Was Hindered By His Illness

First Appears in Naruto Episode 118, "The Vessel Arrives Too Late"

Kimimaro was one of Orochimaru's most loyal servants. He inherited the Kaguya clan's Shikotsumyaku kekkei genkai, and he could use it to manipulate his bone structure. He could turn his bones into deadly melee and ranged weapons. With the help of Orochimaru's Curse Mark, Kimimaro could become a monster with enhanced physical abilities.

Unfortunately, Kimimaro contracted an incurable illness that drained his strength. He could still force himself to move, and he defeated dozens of Naruto's shadow clones with ease. He also nearly killed Gaara and Rock Lee. Kabuto himself stated that the destruction of the Hidden Leaf Village would have succeeded if Kimimaro was at full strength.

6 Mangetsu Hozuki Was Arguably The Strongest Member Of The Seven Ninja Swordsmen

First Appears in Naruto: Shippuden Episode 265, "An Old Nemesis Returns"

Mangetsu was born and raised in the Hidden Mist Village, and he was a member of the Hozuki clan. He could use his clan's Hydrification Technique to liquify his own body. This skill allowed most physical attacks to safely phase through hs body. He could also shoot concentrated water from his finger like a bullet.

The Seven Ninja Swordsman are a legendary group of Mist ninja who wield powerful blades, and Mangestu was part of the group's strongest generation. He mastered all seven swords - which implies that he is one of the strongest swordsman in history. Mangetsu was resurrected during the Fourth Great Ninja War, but he never used any of the swords, so no one knows just how strong he really is.

5 Ginkaku Was A Pseudo-Jinchuriki Who Wielded Sacred Treasures That Belonged To The Sage Of Six Paths

First Appears in Naruto: Shippuden Episode 267, "The Brilliant Military Advisor of the Hidden Leaf"

Decades ago, Ginkaku and his brother Kinkaku tried to capture the Nine-Tails, but they were swallowed instead. The Tailed Beast eventually spat them out because they were eating his flesh. As a result, both brothers gained some of the Nine-Tails' chakra, and they became pseudo-jinchuriki in the process.

Ginkaku also wielded the Benihisago gourd and Shichiseiken sword. These were two of the sacred tools used by the legendary Sage of Six Paths. Ginkaku could use the Version 2 Tailed Beast Transformation, but he never got to show this power during the Fourth Great Ninja War because he was accidentally sealed within the Benihisago gourd by Darui.

4 Dan Kato Never Got To Show His Terrifying Jutsu

First Appears in Naruto Episode 91, "Inheritance! The Necklace of Death!"

Dan Kato was a highly skilled Jonin who dreamt about becoming the Leaf Village's Hokage. He and Tsunade loved each other, and he died in her arms during the Second Great Ninja War. He was resurrected during the Fourth Ninja War, but he spent most of that time sealed inside a special barrier.

Dan possessed a terrifying jutsu called the Spirit Transformation Technique. It allowed his spirit to take control of another person's body. When this happened, he would instantly kill the victim and take control of their movements. He used this technique to see Tsunade one last time, but Naruto fans never got to see him actually fight with it.

3 Sakumo Hatake Was Allegedly More Skilled Than The Legendary Sannin

First Appears in Naruto: Shippuden Episode 159, "Pain vs. Kakashi"

Kakashi is a ninja prodigy who inherited a lot of his father's skills and natural talent. His father's name is Sakumo Hatake, and Naruto fans never got to see him fight because he died when Kakashi was still a child. Sakumo took his own life because he could not live with the shame that others forced onto him.

They shamed him because he prioritized the lives of his comrades instead of the success of an important mission. Sakumo's skills allegedly surpassed those of the three Legendary Sannin - who were all Kage-level ninja. When Kakashi died during Pain's assault, he briefly met his father in limbo.

2 Izuna Uchiha Was Just As Strong As Madara

First Appears in Naruto: Shippuden Episode 136, "The Light and Dark of the Mangekyō Sharingan"

Izuna lived during the Warring States Period, and he was the younger brother of the legendary Madara Uchiha. He was a prodigy who mastered the Sharingan at a very young age. Like other Uchiha, Izuna used the Sharingan to read his enemy's movements. This ability allowed him to evade most attacks.

Izuna's visual prowess was so great that he could fight on par with Tobirama Senju - who was considered the fastest ninja in the world at the time. He excelled in Fire Release - to the point that he could disperse Tobirama's Water Release. Izuna possessed the Mangekyo Sharingan, but he never used any of its abilities during the series. In terms of skill, he and Madara were equal, but only Madara was seen going all out.

1 Fugaku Uchiha Was Strong Enough To Become Hokage

First Appears in Naruto Episode 84, "Roar, Chidori! Brother vs. Brother!"

Fugaku is the father of Sasuke and Itachi, and he was the head of the Uchiha clan during the massacre. During the Third Great Ninja War, he earned the nickname "Wicked Eye Fugaku" because of his visual prowess and strong chakra. His strength was comparable to that of the Legendary Sanin and Minato Namikaze - who went on to becone the Fourth Hokage.

During the selection process, Fugaku was actually considered for the Hokage position. In the anime, it was revealed that he also possesed his own Mangekyo Sharingan. Fugaku never had a serious fight in Naruto. In fact, he allowed Itachi to kill him during the massacre because he refused to fight his own son.
