Chainsaw Man Scene Cameos in Deadpool

Deadpool continues his referential crusade of all things pop culture in his new comic book series launching in April, which features a surprising tribute to Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man.

As shared by social media X account @/Chainsawpedia, the new Deadpool comic series from Marvel Comics features an unexpected tribute to the popular Shonen Jump series. While the issue isn't available for purchase just yet, Marvel has released preview pages for Deadpool #1. Among the pages is one of Deadpool taking out a goon by initiating the "Kon!" hand sign associated with fan-favorite Chainsaw Man character Aki Hayakawa. In place of his Fox Devil is Deadpool's symbiote-hyena friend named "Princess."

Marvel's "New Era of Deadpool" Releases in April

Cody Ziglar, the writer for the new Deadpool comic run, shared the preview pages on his Instagram. "What a time to be alive - I'm gonna be writing Deadpool!" Ziglar said. Roge Antonio, the artist behind series like Venom, Carnage Reigns and Symbiote Spider-Man 2099, will be illustrating Deadpool for Ziglar. The cover art is done by Taurin Clarke. Below is Marvel's official description of Deadpool #1.

"Hitting stands in April, DEADPOOL will be written by Cody Ziglar, known for his acclaimed work on MILES MORALES: SPIDER-MAN, and drawn by Rogê Antônio, the artist behind some of Venom and Carnage’s bloodiest recent adventures. Together, they’ll take readers and Wade guns blazing into a new age packed with Deadpool’s specific brand of violence and lunacy, along with a heavy dose of deadly family drama. In addition to a brand-new archenemy named Death Grip—who may very well live up to his name—the series will also feature Deadpool’s daughter Ellie in a pivotal role. It’s a father/daughter duo the Marvel Universe isn’t ready for… and if Death Grip has his way, it’ll only lead to heartbreak! A new era for the Merc with a Mouth, and a gun, and a sword... Ziglar and Antônio have a wild ride planned for the Merc with the Mouth! Introducing a terrifying new villain who won’t stop until he catches Wade in his Death Grip. But all work and no play makes Deadpool a very DEAD boy!"

Chainsaw Man's Popularity Continues as Fans Await a Season 2 Announcement
