Gojo's 10 Best Fights in the Jujutsu Kaisen Anime, Ranked

Satoru Gojo is a fan-favorite in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans swoon over Gojo’s dashing physical features — his tall stature, crystal blue eyes, and snowy white hair. Other fans enjoy his charismatic personality towards his students and colleagues. Overall, Satoru Gojo’s personality and appearance captivated audiences. Yet, it is also his fighting skills that make him stand out from other characters.

Many fans appreciate Gojo's physical strength and overpowering abilities as a jujutsu sorcerer; after all, he can one-shot kill enemies. He is known to be the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, wielding the “Limitless” and “Six Eyes” abilities of the Gojo clan. Many characters fear him for his abilities, but they still try to prove themselves stronger than Satoru Gojo. Many of Satoru Gojo’s battles showcase him as one of the best sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen.

10 Gojo's Instant Impact: Destroying Juzo Kumiya's Limbs

Ep. 20: "Nonstandard" - Satoru Gojo & Yoshinobu Gakuganji vs. Juzo Kumiya

Gojo's 10 Best Fights in the Jujutsu Kaisen Anime, Ranked

Technically, this is a battle between Yoshinobu Gakuganji and Juzo Kumiya. However, near the end of their fight, Gojo interferes in the fight and stops Juzo. Instead of killing him, Gojo easily blows up Juzo’s limbs, making Juzo unable to move. This isn’t much of a fight between Gojo and Juzo.

Instead, Gojo and Juzo's fight is similar to when Gojo interferes with Hanami’s fight with Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo. Gojo instantly draws the fight to an end, even though his comrades could have taken the enemy out with a few more moves. This is just another example of Gojo’s strength as a jujutsu sorcerer.

9 Gojo's Tag-Team Take Down with His Close Friend, Suguru Geto

Ep. 25: “Hidden Inventory” & Ep. 26: “Hidden Inventory 2” - Satoru Gojo & Suguru Geto vs. Bayer & Kokun

Gojo's 10 Best Fights in the Jujutsu Kaisen Anime, Ranked

Satoru Gojo tag teams with Suguru Geto to fight against Bayer and Kokun. Gojo and Geto must stop Bayer and Kokun from assassinating the Star Plasma Vessel. Gojo can defeat many enemies without any help. This is one of the rare instances where Gojo is joined with another former jujutsu sorcerer, Suguro Geto, to fulfill a mission.

In their youth, Gojo and Geto showcase flashy cool moves, including Goto stopping hundreds of knives aimed at him in midair while talking on his cell phone. This fight doesn't show much of Gojo's fighting abilities, since he has a tag team partner; however, Gojo does showcase his skills as a team player and that he doesn't need to be the hero in every battle.

8 Gojo's First Encounter With the Greatest Cursed Spirit of All Time

Ep. 2: "For Myself" - Satoru Gojo vs. Ryomen Sukuna

After Yuji Itadori consumes Ryomen Sukuna’s finger, Sukuna slowly takes over Itadori’s physical body and easily beats up Megumi Fushiguro. Satoru Gojo enters the fray to rescue Megumi from Sukuna’s attacks. Gojo and Sukuna show immense strength and physical prowess, exchanging blows against one another. Gojo did not exert his full potential on Sukuna. He easily blocks and dodges any of Sukuna’s attacks.

The fight favors Gojo as opposed to Sukuna. Gojo’s first advantage is that Sukuna has been in a slumber for a while, so Sukuna is in a weakened physical state and has not used his power for quite some time. Sukuna has no control over his power, exerting brute force without strategy, and Itadori is battling Sukuna internally to regain possession of his physical body. Itadaori only consumed one finger of the twenty fingers that are in existence. If Itadori consumes more of his fingers before this battle, Sukuna would have exceptional power and can control Itadori’s body; thus, he would equally match Gojo’s strength.

7 Young Gojo Fighting Shadow Clones

Ep. 26: "Hidden Inventory 2" - Gojo vs. Cloning Curse User

While saving Riko Amanai, Satoru Gojo is attacked by an unnamed cloning curse user, and Gojo arrogantly demonstrates his power. He uses the cursed technique, Blue, attracting the clones to him, and then tosses them up in the air. Then he slams them against each other and down to the ground. The fight is comedic as he is holding and tossing Riko in the air while fighting the clone curse user. The fight reaches an epic conclusion when Gojo bursts open a window to locate the real cloning user while in the air and still holding Riko under his arm. He attacks the enemy with a cursed technique, Red, but misfires; instead, he punches him in midair.

This is one of Gojo’s more comical fights as a jujutsu sorcerer. Gojo toys with his opponent with pure enjoyment. Even though Riko is in a life-and-death situation, Gojo knows that his opponent does not stand a chance against him. He can treat this fight with lightheartedness and put some comical antics into his fighting style, since he does not see his opponent as a threat. However, it can be demoralizing for an opponent when Gojo does not respect them, although it does put Gojo at a fighting advantage.

6 Gojo Introduces Hollow Purple: The One-Shot Destruction

Ep. 20: "Nonstandard" - Gojo vs. Hanami

Before Gojo versus Hanami, Hanami was fighting against Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo. The fight favored Itadori and Todo once they combined their techniques: Yuji Itadori’s Black Flash with Aoi Todo’s Boogie Woogie. On the brink of losing, Hanami attempts to unleash their domain expansion, but Gojo negates it. Gojo unleashes a purple orb of mass that destroys anything within its path known as Hollow Purple. In this case, the purple wave destroys half the forest, displaying just an incremental example of Gojo’s true power.

Gojo wasn’t involved in the fight between Hanami, Yuji Itadori, and Aoi Todo. He only came at the end to prevent Hanami from escaping. However, this scene showcases another powerful attack from Gojo, establishing Gojo as one of the great sorcerers in front of Yuji Itadori. Itadori is aware of Gojo’s powers, but this is the first time he has seen this particular attack on display.

5 Gojo's First Encounter With Toji Fushiguro

Ep. 27: "Hidden Inventory 3" - Gojo vs. Toji Fushiguro

Toji Fushiguro launches a surprise attack against the Star Plasma Vessel’s escort team on the school grounds. The fight starts with an offensive attack against Toji. Gojo uses his cursed technique, Blue, but Toji dodges these attacks due to his quickness and agility. Gojo also realizes that Toji has zero cursed energy flowing through him, making it difficult for him to get a direct hit. As a result, Gojo amplifies Blue with maximum output, causing a blue blast to destroy everything surrounding him so that Toji can’t launch any surprise attacks.

Toji uses a special-grade cursed tool, the Inverted Spear of Heaven, which can negate any active curse techniques in his fight against Gojo. As a result, Toji brutally slices Gojo’s throat and chest. Gojo is left vulnerable, allowing Toji to launch a physical offensive attack and leaving what looks like a defeated and dead Gojo. This is one of the first moments where Gojo encounters an individual who is difficult for him to dispose of and met his match.

4 Gojo Fought A Foreign Cursed Spirit User in the Night Parade of 100 Demons

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 - Gojo vs. Miguel Oduol

In Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Suguru Geto unleashes several cursed spirits onto Kyoto and Shinjuku. Gojo is stationed to protect civilians and exorcise the curses in Shinjuku. Gojo fights Miguel Oduol, the strongest cursed sorcerer in Geto’s group. Miguel uses a cursed rope to attack Gojo, but Gojo swiftly dodges all attacks. Gojo uses his agility and hand-to-hand combat skills to attack Miguel. Gojo lands quick blows on Miguel in succession with great accuracy and speed, resulting in Miguel being unable to counterattack.

Gojo doesn’t necessarily use his cursed technique powers because he sees Miguel as a weak opponent despite being the strongest in Geto’s team. Instead, Gojo toys with Miguel and uses simple hand-to-hand combat techniques to stop him, indicating to the audience that Miguel is no match for Gojo. Gojo flawlessly defeats Miguel in a short amount of time. This is a high-stakes battle for Gojo. He is under pressure to defeat Miguel quickly, so he can rescue Yuta Okkotsu from Suguru Geto. Gojo proves he can fight under pressure and in a high-stakes match. In this fight, he has a calm composure and does not let emotions or distractions get to him.

3 Gojo Introduces Domain Expansion & the Gojo Clan's Ultimate Powers

Ep. 7: "Assault" - Gojo vs. Jogo

Jogo uses all sorts of fire and lava attacks against Gojo, but Gojo can dodge each one, which surprises Jogo. Unfortunately, Jogo underestimates Gojo’s power, making him unprepared for Gojo’s powerful attacks and skill sets. Gojo has the advantage against Jogo — not only in power, but also manipulates Jogo to react impulsively. In addition, this fight introduces Gojo’s true power, justifying why he is the greatest jujutsu sorcerer.

In his short fight against Sukuna, Gojo did not use his special abilities as the fight didn’t call for it. However, with Jogo, Gojo introduces his Limitless ability. Gojo tells Jogo that he will never land a hit on him because of his Neutral Limitless: Infinity ability. Infinity creates a barrier made up of an infinite amount of space between Gojo and his opponent. Hence, if an opponent attempts to strike Gojo, they aren’t able to because the attack eventually enters the infinity space, which slows down the attack and makes it appear to stop for eternity. Gojo responds to Jogo’s attacks using Cursed Reverse Technique: Red. Gojo channels positive energy into the power of Limitless and creates a repelling effect in the form of a red orb. In this fight, Gojo repels Jogo with this cursed technique.

This fight also introduces the concept of domain expansion. Domain expansion is an advanced barrier technique that creates a metaphysical landscape representing the identity of the cursed user, and the barrier is imbued with the user’s cursed energy. The cursed user’s domain expansion guarantees an automatic hit against their enemy, but if two domain expansions are activated in the same space, the most dominant expansion will take over. In this case, Gojo’s Unlimited Void takes over Jogo’s Coffin of the Iron Mountain, and the fight ends with Jogo getting his head decapitated. In this fight, Gojo showcases his powerful techniques, proving to Jogo and others that he is unstoppable.

2 Gojo's Underground Train Station Brawl

Ep. 33: "Shibuya Incident - Gate, Open" - Gojo vs. Mahito’s Group of Special Grade Cursed Spirits

Mahito’s group of special-grade cursed spirits get their revenge against Gojo, who severely injured and embarrassed them in previous battles. In this fight, Mahito’s group must wear down and trap Gojo so he can be imprisoned in the Prison Realm. Mahito’s group uses innocent civilians to crowd the underground station to prevent Gojo from using his Limitless ability. Even though this puts Gojo at a disadvantage, he easily maneuvers and attacks Mahito’s group. Hanami and Jogo push Gojo’s jujutsu sorcery to its limits. Gojo uses his Limitless on Hanami’s weakened domain amplification, crushing and obliterating Hanami’s body into the underground train station wall.

Gojo’s fight with Mahito and his comrades goes off the rails when Gojo does the unthinkable: he releases his domain expansion, Infinite Void, in a crowded area filled with civilians. He only releases it for 0.2 seconds, and within that time, he immobilizes all the transfigured humans and cursed spirits and also spares the psychological well-being of innocent civilians. This was one of Gojo’s most grueling and challenging battles, as he was outnumbered and had to limit casualties while fighting — yet, the execution of the fight is one of the best moments in the series so far. Under intense pressure and circumstances, Gojo can pull off an incredibly slick move that would be deemed impossible for an average jujutsu sorcerer.

1 Gojo's Epic Rematch Against Toji Fushiguro

Ep. 28: "Hidden Inventory 4" - Gojo vs. Toji

Gojo surprises Toji by revealing that he is still alive. Gojo uses the reverse curse technique to heal himself moments before Toji slices him. Gojo is ecstatic that he escaped death, which gives him a sense of invincibility in this rematch. In this rematch, Gojo uses all the cursed techniques he has in his arsenal. He opens with a cursed technique, Red, repelling Toji into a wall. Then Gojo uses the cursed technique, Hollow Purple, to blast away the left side of Toji’s body, and he eventually succumbs to his wounds.

On the brink of death, their first fight against each other awakened Gojo’s survival instinct. Gojo feels a sense of euphoria and insanity as he feels unstoppable; as a result, he unlocks a new level of his power and easily defeats Toji. In addition, Toji acknowledges Gojo as one of the strongest sorcerers in the modern age, even if he is still young.
