Spy x Family has released two adorable new PVC figures of fan-favorite icon Anya Forger.
BigBadToyStore, an online storefront specializing in collectible action figures, is now offering pre-orders for LUMINASTA's latest additions to its Spy x Family figure collection. The "Stylish Look" Anya Forger figure sports a cute black beret, a beige overcoat and black boots, giving her a sophisticated air. "Summer Vacation" Anya Forger dons a cute white sailor outfit and a life raft, making it seem as if she is about to go playing in the ocean. The current retail price for each figure is US$32.99.
The original Spy x Family manga launched on Shonen Jump+ in March 2019. Written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo, the series chronicles the adventures of Agent Twilight (aka Loid Forger) -- a spy tasked with preventing civil war from breaking out between the nations of Westalis and Ostania. As part of his mission, he takes a wife named Yor and adopts a young girl named Anya from his local orphanage. While he tries to keep his identity a secret from the latter, Anya soon finds out due to her mysterious ability to read people's minds. Delighted by the exciting world of spies, Anya tries to help her father in any way she can. Featuring a perfect blend of comedy, action and heart, the series shattered domestic viewing records during its initial airing and has now accumulated a massive worldwide following.
Spy x Family's New Sega Anya Figures Are Inspired by the Anime Series
Anya's latest figures appear to be directly inspired by CloverWorks and WIT Studio's titular anime version, which premiered in April 2022. Including Season 2, this series adapts Chapters 1-59 of Endo's manga, in addition to a few extra bonus stories. In Season 1, Anya meets Becky Blackwell -- a fashion-savvy youngster who quickly becomes her best friend. Since the two often go shopping together, it's possible that "Stylish" Anya's look was constructed with Becky's help. Last year, the pair even made it onto the cover of Non-No -- a major women's fashion magazine in Japan. Additionally, toward the end of Season 2, Twilight, Anya and Yor visit a beach for their first family vacation together.
Anya's fans have even more to look forward to since the character is getting her very own video game later this year. Spy x Anya: Operation Memories is a life simulator that chronicles Anya's everyday life both at home and at school. Promotional materials showcase a variety of different in-game activities, such as cooking with Yor, family "ootings" and card games at school. There is also a detailed customization system that features over 80 different costumes and hairstyles for Anya. Spy x Anya: Operation Memories is scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch this coming June. There will also be versions developed for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC at a later date.
Tatsuya Endo's Spy x Family manga is available in English from VIZ Media. CloverWorks and WIT Studio's popular anime adaptation is available to stream on Hulu and Crunchyroll.
