Spy x Family's Anya Forger goes undercover as Sega's latest Luminasta series figure, which is now available for pre-order.
The Spy x Family Luminasta Anya Forger (Playing Undercover Ver.) figure, available for pre-order on the BigBadToyStore website, costs US$24.99 and is estimated to arrive in September 2024. The new non-articulated figure, made of ABS and PVC, stands at 5.9 inches tall. This playful new addition to the line features Anya Forger as seen in the popular Spy xFamily anime series. Sega's Luminasta series of figures includes impressively detailed characters from well-known shows and genres in unique, dynamic poses.
Currently considered one of the most popular characters in anime, Anya Forger is the adopted daughter of Loid Forger, aka Agent Twilight. She enrolls at Eden Academy to help Loid's mission, Operation Strix. Anya has the ability to read minds and is aware of her parents' double life, but she keeps it a secret for fear of them possibly abandoning her. Anya does her best to help her mother and father with their missions, even befriending Damian Desmond to gather intel about Operation Strix. Although naive about the world, she is also courageous and quick-witted -- as well as obsessed with the in-universe fictional TV show Spy Wars, causing her to idolize her adoptive father and fantasize about being an undercover agent herself.
Spy x Family Creator Teases New Projects in Anniversary Message
Spy x Family creator Tatsuya Endo recently revealed that plans were underway to celebrate the franchise's fifth anniversary. Ironically, Endo did not know that fans would embrace the series as enthusiastically as they have. "I started the series casually, thinking that as long as I could enjoy drawing it, that would be enough," Endo wrote in a message thanking Spy x Family fans and supporters. "I never dreamed that so many people would also come to enjoy it."
Endo continued by detailing Spy x Family's fifth-anniversary celebrations plan, which includes autograph sessions in Japan and overseas. The celebration will also feature commemorative merchandise. Spy x Family released a fifth-anniversary key visual drawn in Endo's signature style, featuring the cast's main characters, with fan-favorite Anya Forger taking a middle spot alongside her adoptive parents and her dog Bond. The artwork also includes other characters from the series. Spy x Family also released a nearly two-minute anniversary promotional video prominently featuring Anya Forger as depicted in the Spy x Family manga, complete with her instantly recognizable voice and meme-worthy expressions.
