The Strongest Characters Kenpachi Zaraki Never Got To Fight In Bleach

Kenpachi Zaraki is the Captain of Squad 11, and he was considered one of the strongest characters in Bleach despite the fact that he intentionally suppressed his power. During the events of the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc, he finally awakened his full strength. Kenpachi has defeated powerful opponents like Nnoitra, Yammy, and Gremmy, and he has fought characters like Ichigo, Byakuya, and Yhwach.

There are other strong Bleach characters that he never got to fight. Many of the Bleach characters that Kenpachi never fights are fellow Captain-level Soul Reapers. He has fought a few Espada, but he did not have the chance to fight some of the group's strongest members due to their paths never crossing in the heat of battle. There is even an elite Quincy that managed to avoid Kenpachi's lust for battle.

10 Starkk Could Fight Multiple Captains At Once

First Appears in Episode 138, "Second Move of Hueco Mundo! Hitsugaya vs Yammy"

Coyote Starkk was named the Primera Espada because he possessed immense spiritual energy. Most normal Hollows would simply die if they were in his pressence. When Starkk released his Resurreccion, he gained a pair of pistols that could fire dozens of empowered Cero at once.

Starkk could sacrifice these pistols to summon a pack of soul wolves - which would hunt his opponents. Starkk could fight three Captain-level Soul Reapers at once, and he defeated two of them. Kenpachi did try to attack Starkk in Hueco Mundo when he came to take Orihime Inoue, but they never got the chance to actually fight each other.

9 Ulquiorra Was The Only Espada With A Second Resurreccion

First Appears in Episode 113, "Prelude to the Apocalypse, The Arrancar's Attack"

Ulquiorra was the Fourth Espada, and he was the only Espada at the time who possessed a second Resurreccion. While using his first Resurreccion, Ulquiorra could overwhelm Ichigo's Hollowfied Bankai form with ease. and his second form basically turned Ichigo's Bankai into an ordinary Zanpakuto.

Ulquiorra's Lanza del Relampago technique could destroy all of Las Noches with a single attack. He was not as strong as Ichigo's Vasto Lorde transformation, but he was the only one who could stop its rampage. Kenpachi and Ulquiorra never got to meet because they were either fighting other opponents or they were in different parts of Las Noches.

8 Baraggan Can Defeat Almost Anyone With His Resurreccion

First Appears in Episode 145, "The Espada Gather! Aizen's Royal Assembly"

Baraggan was once the King of Hueco Mundo, and he was later named the Second Espada. While in his base form, Baraggan had a time dilation field around his body - which means that he could easily dodge most melee attacks. If he were to touch someone's arm, he could force that specific limb to age until it became ineffective.

When Baraggan released his Resurreccion, his aging powers increased to the point he became one of Bleach's darkest villains. This version of Baraggan emitted a field that would rapidly age everything around him until only dust remained. He could also release a miasma that would instantly rot anything in its path. It is a good thing Kenpachi was in Hueco Mundo when Baraggan released his Resurreccion because its aging powers can defeat almost anyone.

7 Toshiro Possesses Incredible Ice Powers

First Appears in Episode 24, "Assemble! The Gotei 13"

Kenpachi has fought several Captains in the past, but he has never crossed blades with Toshiro Hitsugaya - the Captain of Squad 10. Toshiro is a true prodigy who wields Hyorinmaru - the strongest ice-type Zanpakuto. With it, he can control large quantities of ice and water.

His Bankai gives him access to even more ice, and he can use this ice to freeze and shatter his opponents. In its fully matured state, Toshiro can use his Bankai to instantly freeze anything in his path with a simple hand gesture. This ice is special because it completely nullifies his opponent's movements and abilities. This means that even Kenpachi's newly awakened powers would be negated.

6 Shunsui Is Strong Enough To Become The Next Captain Commander

First Appears in Episode 24, "Assemble! The Gotei 13"

Most of the time, Shunsui is a laid-back and peace-loving Soul Reaper, but he will fight when he needs to. He is one of the oldest and strongest Captains in Bleach, which is why he was named the new Captain Commander after Yamamoto's death. Shunsui's Shikai makes children's games real by forcing everyone involved to abide by the Zanpakuto's rules.

With his Bankai, Shunsui covers an entire area in despair, and everyone must endure a series of terrifying and deadly scenarios. He could fight Yamamoto with Ukitake's help, and he defeated Coyote Starkk without having to release his Bankai. So far, Kenpachi and Shunsui have had no reason to fight each other.

5 Oetsu Is A Master Swordsman Who Created The Zanpakuto

First Appears in Episode 374, "The Shooting Star Project (ZERO MIX)"

Oetsu created the Zanpakuto - a contribution that earned him a position with Squad Zero - whose combined power is stronger than the Gotei 13 combined. He is the squad's Third Officer, and he holds the "God of the Sword" title. Oetsu has never met Kenpachi because he spends all of his time in the Soul King's Palace.

He wields a special Zanpakuto called Sayafushi - which has been sharpened to the point that no sheath can hold it. With this Zanpakuto, Oetsu can cut anyone down with a single attack, and he used it to cut down Yhwach's Elite Guards in quick succession.

4 Aizen Became An Immortal Being With Immense Spiritual Power

First Appears in Episode 23, "14 Days Before Rukia's Execution"

Kenpachi never fought Aizen when they were both in the Soul Society, and he was in Hueco Mundo when Aizen decimated the Gotei 13 and the Visored in the Fake Karakura Town. Aizen was the Captain of Squad 5, and his spiritual energy is virtually limitless.

His Zanpakuto creates a state of complete hypnosis because it can control all five senses. When he combined this power with his spiritual energy and raw strength, he was able to defeat multiple Captain-level fighters with minimal effort. After fusing with the Hogyoku, Aizen became immortal - which made him even more overpowered.

3 Genryusai Yamamoto Could Destroy Anything With His Bankai

First Appears in Episode 24, "Assemble! The Gotei 13"

Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto was the Captain Commander for more than 1,000 years because no other Soul Reaper could match his strength. His spiritual energy and physical strength were immense - to the point he could kill a Sternritter with a single slash. He also wielded Ryujin Jakka - the oldest and strongest fire-type Zanpakuto.

Yamamoto did train Kenpachi in swordsmanship, but they never had a full on fight. The former Captain Commander could incinerate anything with his Shikai's flames, and his Bankai could erase anything with a single sword tap, but it also covered his body with a flame shield, and he could use it to raise the dead.

2 Lille Is The Leader Of Yhwach's Royal Guard

First Appears in Episode 380, "THE LAST 9DAYS"

Kenpachi does fight members of Yhwach's Royal Guard, but he never gets to fight Lille - the group's leader. His primary weapon is a rifle, and he can use it to pierce through anything with his Schrift: The X-Axis. Lille's shots cannot be blocked, but someone like Kenpachi should be able to cut through them.

When Lille opens both his eyes, he becomes intangible because his body can pierce through enemy attacks. If Lille activates his Quincy: Vollstandig he can shoot multiple blasts from different angles at the same time. In his second Vollstandig transformation, Lille can fire a blast that can erase part of a city.

1 Ichibe May Be The Strongest Soul Reaper In History

First Appears in Episode 374, "The Shooting Star Project (ZERO MIX)"

As the leader of Squad Zero, Ichibe Hyosube may be the strongest Soul Reaper in existence. He can use secret Kido spells, and he is one of the only characters in Bleach who can fight villains like Aizen and Yhwach in a one-on-one bout. He has named everything within the Soul Society, so it makes sense that his power revolves around names.

When Ichibe releases his Shikai, he can cover objects and individuals with black ink, The ink negates the powers of anything it covers. Ichibe also gains the powers of anyone wearing black. His Bankai is called Shirafude Ichimonji, and it gives him the ability to bestow new names onto others. For example, he named Yhwach "black ant", and he became as weak as an ant.
