Dragon Ball's Limited-Edition Kid Goku Exclusive Will Be Released in North America

The upcoming fall release of Dragon Ball Daima will usher in the return of Kid Goku to the Dragon Ball franchise. Coinciding with the new anime TV series, a new limited-edition Kid Goku figure will soon be available for North American audiences.

On the official Tamashii online shop, the SON GOKU -Innocent Challenger- anime figure was released in Japan on Aug. 4, 2023. However, the store page now directs users from the U.S. to the Tamashii Nation Store in New York for purchase. The anime figure is based on Kid Goku as seen in the original Dragon Ball anime series and soon in Dragon Ball Daima. It currently retails for 3,960 yen (US$25.35).

The SON GOKU -Innocent Challenger- anime figure "features newly sculpted facial expression parts and replaceable head parts." Additionally, the coloring of the figure closely resembles its anime counterpart. The complete listing of contents includes three interchangeable faces, three pairs of interchangeable hands (left and right), an interchangeable head part and stick parts.

Dragon Ball's Newest Kid Goku U.S. Figure Release Is Modeled After the First '80s Anime

As longtime anime fans know, the 1986 Dragon Ball TV series focused on the early years of Goku’s life as a child and concluded when he won the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament as an adult. Although Kid Goku has been seen in anime movies like Dragon Ball: The Path to Power or even the flashback opening of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the franchise has predominantly portrayed Goku as an adult in series like Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. However, the fall release of Dragon Ball Daima will return Goku to his child form, along with everyone else in the main cast.

Dragon Ball Daima Is Set to Return Goku to His Original Kid Form, Complete With Power Pole

The new anime project -- the last that Akira Toriyama was directly involved with before his passing -- was made to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball franchise. Not much is currently known about the story, but Goku, Vegeta and their friends have been turned back into children by a new and evil foe and must work together to get their original forms back. Since being a child again limits his true strength, Goku will once again be fighting bad guys with his Power Pole.

The Dragon Ball anime TV series and movies are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Dragon Ball Daima will premiere in October 2024. Viz Media handles the English distribution of the manga.
